RE: trail air center point suspention

We have both the Trail Air pin hitch and the suspension on our CedarCreek. It makes a big difference towing, but it makes a huge difference in how the inside contents travel!
I second this. We, too have both and would not be without them.

RE: Forest River '07-'09 5th wheel owners please read!

We have had first hand experience with Cedar Creek's warranty service for tire problems, not with Iron Man but with previous installed brands. In all instances Cedar Creek stood behind their product and made all repairs and replacements. Our most recent tire problem was a blowout in Florida on I-4. Cedar Creek made the arrangements and had all damage repaired and replace 5 tires and rims. I believe one of the most positive aspects of CC is their warranty service.
Look on the Cedar Creek RV club forum as there is much there about tire (and other) problems.

Hope this helps.

RE: Iron Man LT tires on Forest River 5th Wheel

Don't worry so much about the Chinese tires as the ENTIRE Cedar Creek suspension is made in China. Brakes, Brake drums, axles, springs, shocks, wheels and tires. I have the Iron Man tires on my rig as well. So far, so good - just keep 'em aired up.
BTW, I love the American names they give the tires. . :R
This is correct, Lippert has the entire assembly made in China, tires, rims and all. Forest River's Cedar Creek recently changed to Iron Man tires because of some problems they had with a previous Chinese brand. Cedar Creek's warranty people say they have confidence with these tires. I would initially have confidence with the tires, if they are Load Range E, since they changed to Iron Man from one they had problems with. JMO I have Load Range G and had the previous Chinese brand and experienced, first hand, the problems. I now have Goodyears, Load Range G, American made, and am very happy.

RE: 2008 GM truck height

You can get any measurement you want for GM trucks here.
GM trucks don't vary too much in height between 2wd and 4wd but you can get dimensions for both. Unless you have done something to your truck, it is most likely that you won't have to do a thing to your trailer.
This is not always the case. Beginning with the 07.5 models, GM increased the bed rail height, (from the floor of the bed) almost 3 inches. If you had marginal clearance with a 5th wheel on an older model truck, in all likelyhood you will have a clearance problem with the new GM models. The way to solve this problem is to raise the RV. I don't know why GM made this change but, it can be a problem. My guess is that GM increased the bed rail height to accomodate their new, optional, cargo management system.

RE: 2008 GM truck height

Our Cedar Creek has adjustable axle hangers that enabled us to raise the 5th wheel. THEN, we had to adjust the 5th wheel in the bed of the truck to its maximum height. We have a PullRite Super 5th mounted on Super Rails to get more height from the bed of the truck. After this, we now have more than adequate clearance above the truck's bed rails.

RE: I-77 South thru WV and VA ?? Good/Bad or Ugly??

We drive I-77 all the time to Charlotte, NC, (family) and often into SC when going to Disney World. It is no problem. Better, IMO, than I-71 and I-75.

RE: Branson, MO Parking Ticket

I'm sorry for the wrong impression. I did pay the fine, I put $10 in the mail the following day. I never had any intention of not paying the fine. Unfortunately, the one ton dually did not fit within the lines without sticking out too far, which in my opinion was dangerous. Had the lot been close to full, I would not have parked there. The lot was located in the Old Town area above the Landings.

Branson, MO Parking Ticket

We received a $10 parking ticket in a Branson, MO municipal parking lot two weeks ago, for parking across the lines. This was a large lot that was only about 10% occupied. In other words, there were many empty spaces. I parked our one-ton dually in the lot, (we pull a 5th wheel) and crossed the lines, on purpose. If I stayed within the lines the front of the truck stuck out and could interfere with moving vehicles. I picked a part of the lot so as to not cause problems and further away from pedestrian ingress and egress. Needless to say, I am very disappointed with the ticket as I do not believe it makes sense. I guess Branson, MO is not very RV friendly. With the price of fuel, the city should be very appreciative of our trip. I do not plan to return to Branson!

RE: Tom Johnson in Concord, NC closing?

Just rode by the dealer today 06/01/08.
Nothing in ther parking lot there.
Dis they just move everything off their lot for the Memorial weekend race or are they closing up?
There were several large MH's lined up at service, but other than that it looked basically "cleaned out" around there.
Maybe they are moving???
Thanks....I get some supplies and some service from there.
We camped there last week. Did you look across the street from the dealership? There are hundreds of units. About the largest RV inventory I've ever seen! They had to move their inventory because of race weeks. And, they have to keep it across the street as their main inventory lot is being paved for drag strip parking. This dealership is alive and well!

RE: Battery Cut Off Switch?

I have been using a Harbor Freight battery cut off switch (about $5.00) with the same type battery arrangement for about a year. No problems. The switch is spliced into the main 12 volt supply line between the positive post in the battery box and the 12 volt distribution panel. Hope this helps...
I used the same switch but installed it in the negative cable between the negative battery post and the grounding on the frame, (only because it was more convenient).

Cross Creek gets my vote. We've stayed there many times. Clean and very well run. Sites are spacious and the zoo is nearby.

RE: Cost of rotochoks

Rotochocks were well worth the cost. I bought them several years ago, and they are still as good as new. Only problem I've got too much space between the axles on this current trailer. I'll be calling Pearl and see how we can solve the problem. I'm sure she will work something out for me.
Worth every penny!
I just experienced the problem of my axle spacing increasing because I replaced the tires. Call Pearl, they will ship you new sets of the plastic/fiber chocks along with instruction on how to replace the ones that are too small. Very easy and about half the cost of new Rotochoks.

RE: Winds of Change.

Like NASCAR? Going to Charlotte Speedway? Tom Johnson Camping Center is right there and can answer all of your questions. We've purchased two units from them, (salesperson Lisa Morrow) and are very happy with their service and professionalism. I had a 3/4 ton Duramax, SWD and changed to the one ton dually in the signature. It is a much more stable vehicle for towing and I average about 10 MPG.
Good Luck!
